MYOB Online Transition—This is the documentation of MYOB integration to Awm-manage, which is from offline to online MYOB. Below is the guide on Myob online transitions from offline.

The application can work both online and offline. There's a trigger to set whether it's online or offline. All settings in the online environment were configured in .env files.  Below is the procedure for configuring it online. 

1. Set the MYOB_ONLINE = true in settings-awaste.inc.php file

2. Set this following on .env file

• MYOB_ONLINE_KEY

• MYOB_ONLINE_URL

• MYOB_ONLINE_FILEID

• MYOB_ONLINE_REDIRECT_URI

• MYOB_ONLINE_CLIENT_KEY (This is encrypted need to manually Encrypt find the encryption on BW "MYOB file encrypt")

3. Once the configuration was done. Need to create the MYOB_ONLINE_REFRESH_TOKEN by accessing this page 

• http://dev-awm-manage.austwaste.org/_class/myob_get_refresh_token.php
• Login with MYOB account and use Reception@awaste

4. Recreate the refresh token

5. Check the page http://dev-awm-manage.austwaste.org/customer to see if the MYOB has been successfully integrated. 

6. Optional, when the backup of Offline MYOB is restored to Online, you will probably experience the Error 401 "Access Denied"

• Open AccountRight Online 
• Login using reception
• Click open web browser 
• Login 
• login again using Myob users

Step-by-Step Guide to Integrate MYOB Online with a Web App

1. Choose the Right MYOB Product

MYOB offers two main cloud-based solutions:

MYOB AccountRight Live – For desktop-based accounting with cloud capabilities.

MYOB Business (formerly Essentials) – Fully cloud-based.

Each has a different API:

AccountRight API

MYOB Business API

2. Register Your Application

• Go to the MYOB Developer Portal
• Create a developer account.
• Register your application to get:
• Client ID
• Client Secret
• Redirect URI (used for OAuth2.0)

3. Implement OAuth 2.0 Authentication

MYOB uses OAuth 2.0 for secure access.

• Step 1: Redirect user to the MYOB authorization URL:

 https://secure.myob.com/oauth2/account/authorize

Include your client_id, redirect_uri, and required scope.

• Step 2: User logs in and authorizes your app.
• Step 3: MYOB redirects to your app with an authorization code.
• Step 4: Exchange the code for an access token and refresh token by POSTing to:

https://secure.myob.com/oauth2/v1/authorize/token

Save the tokens securely for making API calls.

4. Discover the Company File (AccountRight only)

Use the token to call:

https://api.myob.com/accountright/

to list available company files.

Note the Company File GUID and file credentials (if required).

5. Make API Calls

Set the Authorization header:

Authorization: Bearer <access_token> x-myobapi-key: <client_id> x-myobapi-version: v2 x-myobapi-cftoken: <base64 company file credentials> (only for AccountRight)

Use endpoints such as:

GET Contacts: /Contact/Customer

POST Invoices: /Sale/Invoice/Item

GET Accounts: /GeneralLedger/Account

 

6. Refresh Token When Expired

Access tokens expire. Use the refresh token to get a new access token without re-authenticating the user.

Logging in Myob Online using AccountRight Desktop

1. Open the MYOB AccountRight Application
   1. Locate and double-click the AccountRight icon on your desktop or in your Start Menu.
2. Choose a Company File
   1. On the welcome screen, click Open a Company File.
3. Select Online Option
   1. In the left panel, select Online under “Library”.
   2. A list of online files available to your MYOB login will appear.
4. Sign In to Your MYOB Account
   1. When prompted, enter your MYOB email address and password.
   2. Click Sign In.
5. Open Your Company File
   1. Click the name of your company file from the list.
   2. If your file is password-protected, you may need to enter your User ID and company file password (this is different from your MYOB account login).
6. Start Working
   1. Once logged in, you’ll be taken into your company file and can begin working.
