How to Check and Amend Supplier Prices

1) Email supplier and request updated price list including our reseller bulk discounts (or a retail price list and our reseller discount percentage if that is how they provide price lists).
2) Confirm discounts have been applied to price list, if not create a spreadsheet to reduce the list price by our discount amount to produce our purchase price.
3) In MYOB, click the "Inventory" Icon, then "Item List", then the "Inventoried" tab.
4) Locate each item from the supplier price list one at a time using our "Item Number". This can be done either by scrolling through the list manually (handy if all items are together), or using the "Search" box.
5) Click on the blue arrow in front of the "Item Number" you want to compare.
6) Click on the "Buying Details" tab.
7) Compare the product prices in the price list with their relevant purchase prices in MYOB.
8) If a price is identical, cross the item off the supplier list and move on to the next item.
9) If a price is different, mark the item on the price list with an asterisk "" for further investigation.
10) After you have all items on the supplier list either crossed off or marked with an asterisk "", review the items where the price has changed.
11) Any items that appear to have increased in price, please ask the supplier to confirm the increase before proceeding to ensure there has been no mistake made. Also ask if the price increase is necessary, or if they can return the price back to the previous price for us.
12) If the supplier confirms that the price must increase, or if the list price decreased on the list provided by the supplier, change the "Standard Cost" of the item in the MYOB "Buying Details" tab to reflect the new price provided by the supplier.
13) Click on the "Selling Details" tab of the item in MYOB.
14) If the supplier purchase price increased, add our "Margin" to the purchase price to determine our "Base Selling Price".
15) If our new "Base Selling Price" has increased by more than 5% compared to the previous selling price, round the price up to the nearest $4 or $9 (so $41 would round up to $44, $65 would round up to $69) and enter the new "Base Selling Price" in the following fields in the "Selling Details" tab of the item:
a) "Base Selling Price"
b) "Quantity Over: 0" "Level B" "Level C" "Level D" "Level E" "Level F"
16) Determine the amount of the increase from the previous "Base Selling Price" to the new "Base Selling Price" and apply the same increase to all other fields in each of the "Quantity Over" and "Level" fields, so that all old prices increase by the same amount as the new "Base Selling Price". I.e. if the increase from the old "Base Selling Price" to the new "Base Selling Price" is $10, you would add $10 to all other prices in all "Quantity Over" "Level" fields. Be very careful NOT to change the values in the "Over" fields as this will change the quantity at which the price change occurs automatically. If you accidentally change one of these fields and do not 100% remember what it previously said, please click the "Cancel" button at the bottom of the window and start the entire process for that item over again.
17) After making changes to each item, ensure you click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window otherwise your changes will be lost.
18) Once you have determined the items that required a price change, and the amounts that they have changed, create a Trello card for IT to amend the pricing of the affected items everywhere else they need to be. For example, this would be in our online store/ordering system, AWM-Manage, etc. IT will know where the changes need to be applied as they will maintain a list themselves.
18) Ask IT To notify everyone of the changes in the Team Parsons Skype Chat once they have been applied everywhere.
